While upgrading, opening and restoring Company File-File gets opens with File Explorer not with Quickbooks Software
1.Close QuickBooks.
2.Download the most recent version (1.6.0.3) of the QuickBooks Tool Hub. 3.Save the file somewhere you can easily find it (like your Downloads folder or your Windows desktop). Note: If you've installed Tool Hub before, you can find out which version you have. Select the Home tab. The version will be on the bottom.
4.Open the file you downloaded (QuickBooksToolHub.exe).
5.Follow the on-screen steps to install and agree to the terms and conditions.
7.When the install finishes, double-click the icon on your Windows desktop to open the tool hub.
1.In the QuickBooks Tools Hub, select Program Problems.
2.Select QuickFix my Program. It will take about a minute to run. If you have multiple versions of QuickBooks installed, it can take longer. Wait until the progress bar is done.
3.When QuickFix my Program is finished, open QuickBooks and verify your issue is fixed.
If you still see Error -6123, 0, move on to Step 3.
If QuickFix my Program didn't work, we can use File Doctor to repair your company file. File Doctor automatically scans and fixes common QuickBooks Desktop data issues.
1.In the QuickBooks Tools Hub, select Company File Issues.
2.Select Run QuickBooks File Doctor.
3.When QuickBooks File Doctor opens, choose your company file from the ▼ drop-down. If you don't see it, select Browse to search your 4.computer for the file. The file will look like this: [your company name].qbw.
Select Check your file, then Continue.
1.Open QuickBooks Desktop on the same computer you used to create the backup company file.
2.Open your original company file as usual (not the backup).
3.Create a portable copy (.qbm) of your company file.
4.Open QuickBooks Desktop on the new computer.
5.Restore your company file using the portable copy (.qbm) instead of the backup.
According to Intuit, Error Code -6177, 0: “QuickBooks is attempting to open this Company file” indicates that QuickBooks accounting software is unable to use the path to the company file when in multi-user mode
STEP 4-DOWNLOAD AND RUN FILE DOCTOR ON THE SERVER
STEP 5- MANUALLY FIX THE FILE PATH
Find your ND file
2.Find the file with your company name and ND at the end. It should look like this:
[ MyCompanyFileName].qbw.nd.
3.Right-click the ND file and select Delete. Don’t worry, this won’t affect your accounting data.
Configure QuickBooks Database Server Manager.
1.If you haven’t already, download and install the QuickBooks Database Server Manager.
2.Open the Windows Start menu on your server computer.
3.Type “Database” into the search and open QuickBooks Database Server Manager.
4.Select the QuickBooks folder holding your company files.
Select Start Scan.
After the scan finishes, select Close.
Set your folder permissions to share your company files.
